YMCA of Southern Nevada
The volunteer will be assisting with the Active Older Adult (AOA) programming at Durango Hills YMCA. This includes helping members safely set up for group exercise classes and assisting in organizing events that engage and support our large AOA community. Their contribution ensures that more seniors have access to both exercise and social connection, promoting overall well-being and a sense of community. By giving their time, volunteers help create a welcoming, inclusive environment where older adults can stay active, healthy, and engaged. Opportunities are available Monday–Friday from 7:45 AM to 12:30 PM, with some late weekday afternoons and occasional Saturdays. Volunteers are also expected to perform the following youth protection functions: • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers. • Attend required abuse risk management training. • Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers. • Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations. • Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
